About Us

Our pre-schools offer safe, secure and happy environments where children have the opportunities to develop physically, socially and intellectually prior to their entry into their formal educational system.

Safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare forms a large part of our statutory responsibilities and covers most of the requirements of registration with Ofsted. As a childcare provider, we have both a moral and legal duty of care to ensure that any concern or incidents of suspected abuse or harm, are recognised and dealt with immediately and reported to the relevant Local Safeguarding Board without delay.

All children deserve the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We follow the framework of the “Every Child Matters” government green paper which is structured around the five outcomes that are key to a child’s well-being.

The five outcomes are:

  • Staying safe – looking after children’s welfare and ensuring a safe environment
  • Being healthy – safeguarding and promotion children’s health and well-being
  • Enjoying and achieving – supporting the children in their leaning and development
  • Making a positive contribution – working together with parents and encouraging children to play a beneficial part in the nursery and wider community.
  • Organisation – ensuring all government policies, procedures and practices are strictly followed.

Your child’s safety and welfare is our paramount concern, therefore we have written policies and procedures in place that ensure the well-being of all children in our care. Our full range of policies and procedures that reflect our current daily practices can be viewed at any of our pre-schools.

All our pre-schools are fully insured, and these documents including our Ofsted Certificate of registration are available for parents to view on our parent’s notice boards.

All our pre-schools are situated in modern halls in the South East of England, with two recently being re-located onto Primary School sites.

We were delighted in January 2010 to have opened our first purpose build pre-school which is conveniently located on the grounds of Red Hill Primary School in Chislehurst and in March 2011 have opened a second purpose built pre-school on the grounds of Mottingham Primary School. Red Hill pre-school currently offers a full day facility, whilst Mottingham will be open for am and pm sessions. For further details on our individual pre-schools refer to the header marked ‘Our Nurseries’

We provide daily sessional care for children between the ages of 2 ½ to 5 years. The sessions are five mornings a week during term time (38 weeks a year) with some of our pre-schools offering lunch clubs and afternoon sessions.

Our pre-school are regularly inspected by “Ofsted” to ensure that the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements are being met in all areas of the curriculum. We are delighted with our most recent inspection reports that judged all our pre-schools “Good” a strong practice in all aspects of pre-school life, with Red Hill and New Eltham pre-schools receiving the judgment of “Outstanding” in all categories.

It is our intention to make your child’s time at pre-school a happy and rewarding one, where they will have the opportunities to master new skills, develop in confidence, build close and trusting relationships with our staff and make many new friends along the way.

Thank you for considering Village Nurseries for your childcare needs, we look forward to meeting you and your little one in the near future.
