Our independent pre - school situated on the grounds of Mottingham Primary School is attended by children from Mottingham and the surrounding areas, and benefits from a light and airy environment with a delightful secure garden.

The pre-school offers flexible and affordable childcare for children between the ages of two and five years and is open Monday to Friday for morning sessions between the hours of 9am - 12 noon with afternoons sessions and lunch club available subject to demand.

A wide range of stimulating activities are set up on a daily basis that meet the needs of the individual child, with a curriculum that celebrates and builds on their achievements, interests and learning styles.

The Team

Lorraine our Manager has been with us for the past ten years and has a wealth of experience especially in supporting children with special educational needs. Lorraine and the staff team recently completed the “Every Child a Talker” accreditation scoring full marks in all areas of the award. The accreditation focused on the whole learning environment in relation to supporting children’s communication needs, both in group situations and one-to-one, using appropriate levels of language for all children depending on their age and stage of development.

The staff at Mottingham are passionate about providing the very best in childcare, team work is a real strength of the pre-school, and the happy atmosphere and caring nature of the staff ensure every child is made to feel welcomed and fully valued.

We provide a wide range of physical opportunities for children to be active and interactive, and to develop their co-ordination, control and movement. Children are supported in understanding the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices in relation to food.

Children enjoy mark making in a variety of play situations. They use their phonic knowledge to write words that match their spoken sounds.

Children experience a rich language environment, to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves, and to speak and listen in a range of situations. Children are encouraged to link sounds to letters and to begin to read and write. We provide a wide range of reading materials such as books, poems and rhymes in order to ignite their interest and future love in books.
